Together, the papers will provide our current assessment of the building blocks for the IPSP, and the feedback they generate will be important guidance for their further development and the eventual preparation of the plan. [...] In addition to the comprehensive report we are releasing today, OPA will be releasing more data and assumptions in the coming weeks in support of certain aspects of the load forecast, CDM and the other components of the plan. [...] The OPA retained the authors of the study to update and fine-tune the results for Ontario. [...] The steps included: • identification of the CDM potential, which involves the selection of a model and adoption of methodologies, data and assumptions • establishment of criteria for the selection of the proposed portfolio Section 3.1.1 of the IPSP Load Forecast discussion paper ( ) provides the OPA rationale for selecting the Na [...] The extra generation resources assumed to be required were: • A firm import of 1250 MW starting in 2014, costing $2000/kW • Combined cycle plant in the amounts of 143 MW in 2014, and additional 504 MW in 2015 and an additional 337 MW in 2016, costing $930 /kW 6 The $4 to $8 billion value represents the estimated value of the energy efficiency portion of the CDM portfolio.
