Goals and objectives of the project The goal is to promote respect for the human rights of all people living with or vulnerable to HIV/AIDS, and to promote and protect the health of people who use drugs. [...] The objectives are • to increase knowledge and understanding of the issues related to greater involvement of people who use illegal drugs in Canada’s community and government response to HIV/AIDS and HCV; • to increase the capacity of non-governmental organizations and governmental stakeholders to involve people who use illegal drugs more often and more meaningfully; • to increase the involvement [...] Similarly, the HIV/AIDS epidemic has prompted the development of organizations of people who use drugs and a greater demand for the involvement of people who use drugs in HIV/AIDS policy, programs and services.
