Summary

This region, at 33,180 km2, is the largest in land area on the island of Newfoundland, stretching from the Connaigre Peninsula on the south coast to Notre Dame Bay and the Baie Verte Peninsula in the north (Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, 2009). [...] These sub-regions consist of the Coast of Bays sub-region and the Green Bay/Baie Verte Peninsula sub-region to the south and northwest of Grand Falls-Windsor respectively, and the Exploits Valley sub-region extending from the southwest of Grand Falls-Windsor, to the northeast (see Figure 2.1). [...] While the scores generated by the AHP are able to convey the overall preferences of the workshop participants, the consistency ratio provides only minimal insight into the consensus (or 12 lack thereof) reached in the sessions. [...] The data are evaluated in the context of the first three questions stated in the introduction, focusing in particular on the overall service priorities, and any systematic representative community volunteer/paid employee differences in either service priorities or decision strength. [...] It should be noted that this is only approximately 1/5th of the score of the top rated primary health care service, and 1/3rd of the score of the highest education service.
