Parallel to the findings of the 2014 Overview in which most homicide victims had a previous rela- tionship with the offender, the 2013 and 2014 RCMP data reveals that the offender was known to the victim in 100% of the solved homicides of Aboriginal women in RCMP jurisdiction, and in 93% of cases of solved homicides of non-Aboriginal women. [...] Through involvement in the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police committees and in consulta- tion with Statistics Canada, the RCMP is engaged in ongoing efforts to encourage lawful and appro- priate releases of data on the issue of violence against Aboriginal women and to keep this issue in the public consciousness to encourage prevention efforts. [...] As part of the commitments made in the 2014 Overview, the RCMP provided the project data on missing Aboriginal females to NCMPUR to be considered for publication on the website.
