[...] The Macleans Magazine published a detailed article on, “99 Reasons Why It’s Better to be Canadian.”3 The article compared life in Canada to the USA and the countries in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).4 In comparison, Canadians expressed more optimism, confidence, and pride in their country than the citizens of the OECD. [...] People wishing to become citizens of a country must understand these principles of belief and join the country because they wish for the same to be the foundation of their daily lives. [...] That is why in the long past white papers on national defence, the mission for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) always listed the sovereignty of Canada as the first and most important objective.6 It must be clear that the CAF is not the only agency responsible for securing the borders and maintaining the sovereignty of Canada. [...] Strangely and dangerously, the media that is critical in holding governments and other institutions accountable, supported the suppression of the rights and freedoms of Canadians.
