The group is led by a facilitator who is trained in interest-based mediation and facilitation, with a focus on the values and needs of the client. [...] In this practice, the survivor in need of the safety plan is an integral part of the planning process and is called a core member of the Circle. [...] The referring member would contact the facilitator and the three of them would meet to discuss the situation. [...] Using the interest-based process, the client, facilitator, and referring member identify the other members of the Circle. [...] The facilitator then contacts the identified members to participate in the Circle and shares the process and what is expected from them.
