[...] The broader the understanding of factors impacting the helping relationship and human experiences, the more self-awareness, the better able helping professionals are to truly provide effective support. [...] Learning patterns of cultural differences, such as how decisions are made and ways of gathering information helps to reduce the potential for discord and assumptions made on the part of the helping professional.
