CARL is currently in the process of preparing a brief to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada in response to its consultation on revisions to the Privacy Act and submissions are due February 18, 2021. [...] Bengtson attended a French and English townhall respectively at the invitation of the Minister’s office to discuss issues relating to the library and archival community, sustainability of the sector and the ways that the department could help, best practices on EDI, and reducing the environmental footprint. [...] The aim of the study is to gather baseline data on the composition of personnel in CARL institutions and to establish a set of benchmarks against which to evaluate and measure the impact of CARL libraries’ strategies and practices with respect to EDI.
