Initiated by CPAWS, the Municipality Fund for Biodiversity (MFB) is a partnership involving the Government of Canada, participating provincial governments and municipalities, and other concerned parties all committed to the protection of nature, mitigation of climate change and protection of biodiversity. [...] Canadians massively support conservation of nature and protection of biodiversity and are willing to contribute to the solution. [...] The Municipality Fund for Biodiversity is an innovative approach that allows municipalities to accumulate, and secure matching funding for taxpayer contributions for the fight against biodiversity loss and adaptation to climate change. [...] It also allows: • Connecting municipalities to enhance conservation and protection impact and to link wildlife populations; • Contribution to the establishment of wildlife corridors across and between municipalities; • Raising awareness of the economic value of natural resources as assets and contributors to financial stability in municipalities; and • Enhancement of the value of natural assets to.
