This second year of the pandemic had profound effects on the Canadian Council With two major multi-year projects for Refugees (CCR) and those we serve – concluding, we were proud to see the yet once again we showed strength and Youth Network’s accomplishments in an unwavering commitment to make promoting the engagement of newcomer Canada the welcoming country it needs youth, and the Anti-Trafficki. [...] our members coast to coast to coast, the CCR led in advocacy on many issues In the struggle to respond to the wide affecting fundamental rights, including the range of concerns we hold near to our reopening of the Canadian border to hearts, we also had to be kind to refugee claimants, regularization for those ourselves. [...] This leads to the impact of our work: changes in government policies and practices, changes in the practices of community actors, increased awareness of the issues, supporting CCR members to learn and grow, and bringing forward legal challenges. [...] Canadian Council for Refugees Annual report 2020-2021 — Page 12 In the next year Policy and Advocacy: As the Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA) makes its way to the Supreme Court, our legal team, with the support of our members, is determined to advocate for the rights of refugee claimants at our borders. [...] The Afghanistan crisis will no doubt continue to develop over the upcoming year, and the CCR will pay close attention to the government's response in order to provide input and further recommendations on behalf of our member organizations.
