Qualifications To qualify to serve on the Board of Directors as a Director-at-large, candidates need to be a member of the Council of Canadians in good standing, and have the endorsement of five other members. [...] The Mission and Vision of the Council directly aligns with the interests of the labour movement and goes hand in hand with my over 30 years of work with my union, the Canadian Union of Public Employees as well as my current position as Secretary-Treasurer for the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC). [...] In addition to my role at the CLC, I also sit on the Board of Directors of United Way Centraide Canada and have been appointed to the Governing Body of the ILO. [...] I was a founding member of the NWT Chapter of the Council of Canadians, served many years on the Chapter’s Executive, represented the Chapter at regional meetings, and served for four years as the NWT-Prairies rep on the Board of Directors. [...] I admire the effectiveness of the network of chapters that exists across the country and the calibre of people that the Council of Canadians attracts as volunteers, members, and supporters.
