2023

"Canada has a regulatory framework in place to protect Canadians from product-related hazards and to promote the safe use of products. Flammability requirements for textile products intended for consumer use are set out in various regulations under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. Several regulations incorporate the Canadian General Standards Board standard CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 27.5, entitled Textile test methods – Flame resistance – 45° angle test – One-second flame impingement, as the national test method for determining the flame spread properties of a textile product. This new edition of CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 27.5 specifies the laundering and dry cleaning procedures for removal of non-permanent flame-retardant treatments applied to textile products and no longer refers to CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 30.3-1994"--Introduction, page i. Issued also in French under title: Méthodes pour épreuves textiles : essai de résistance à l'inflammation sous un angle de 45° - application de la flamme pendant une seconde. "Supersedes CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 27.5-2008 and CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 30.3-1994." "ICS 59.080.30." Includes bibliographical references.
