Christian Ethics

Christian ethics, also called moral theology, is a virtue ethic, which focuses on the building of an ethical character, and a deontological ethic, which assesses choices. It was a branch of theology for most of its history but separated from theology during the Enlightenment of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. For most scholars of the twenty-first century, it holds a niche between theology on one side and the social sciences on the other.
