Edition 27, December 2023 Family Reunification Program Begins for Survivors of Daesh In 2017, the Government of Canada committed to resettling 1,200 survivors of the militant organization Daesh (also known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL), primarily vulnerable women and children. [...] Thousands of Yazidis remain displaced from their homes, both within and outside Iraq; they and other survivors continue to suffer the effects of Daesh’s violent regime, much of which was focused on women and children. [...] C., CUAET holders have experience in many trades, including construction, finance, and technology, but only 19% of women and 33% of men have found work in their field. [...] OUSH-OHPU continues to work on collecting and analyzing data to provide data-driven insights enabling effective resource allocation and identification of priority needs to support the settlement and integration process for displaced Ukrainians and the organizations serving them. [...] The Seeking Refuge bulletin has been created to keep service providers up-to-date on news, resources, and to provide information on frequently asked about topics related to recent migrations of displaced Ukrainians and resettled refugees.
