Policy manual 2014 /

24 Jun 2014

Policy Development is an ongoing process facilitated by the New Brunswick Green Party's Provincial Council, with various kinds of support from the Policy Development Committee (Provincial Council), the Shadow Cabinet (the Leader's Office), the online policy forum open to all members, and the face-to-face conversations that members carry on at any time. Policy Development is a continuous process precedes, leads up to and results from policy resolutions approved by the membership. Policy Approval is accomplished at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), or at a Special Meeting of Members (SMM) called specifically for that purpose. Prior to each AGM there is a public call for policy resolutions. Policy resolutions are submitted in advance of the AGM or SMM, circulated at the meeting, discussed, and voted on. Resolutions which receive majority support are adopted as official policy of the New Brunswick Green Party. This manual is the result of a growing series of policy resolutions adopted at various AGMs and SSMs in our growing movement forward. The policies in this manual will be used to develop the NB Green Party election platform for the 2014 provincial election.
