Building a sustainable future : Bâtir un avenir durable : l'héritage de la Table ronde nationale sur l'environnement et l'économie du Canada

The National Round Table on the Environment and Economy (NRTEE or Round Table) experienced an eventful 25 years (1988-2013) developing, assessing, and interpreting policy options on sustainability for Canadians. It produced over 100 major reports while interacting with Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Launched in the aftermath of the UN's Brundtland Commission report in 1988, it designed and explained the concrete actions necessary to implement the visionary "sustainable development" concept. It exploited the exciting new paradigm for integrating finance and economics into environmental and social considerations.
