[...] As such, the goal of this study is to develop an increased understanding of the role of brokering in schools in relation to the adaptation of refugee children and families. [...] Like the SWIS and ISS programs, the mandate of the CBP is to connect families to community and school resources, but with the additional focus on bridging gaps brought about by cultural and communication differences. [...] Results and Discussion For the purpose of this working paper, the following section integrates the research findings with literature to discuss various challenges and opportunities identified for the role of educational cultural brokers as they assist refugee children and families in school settings.
