The state of knowledge in research on healthy communities initiatives : Integrated approach for chronic disease prevention

12 Mar 2012

"Few studies have been done on the use of the Healthy Communities approach in the prevention of chronic disease. The purpose of the present article is to review the current state of knowledge contained in studies of Healthy Communities initiatives, and examine how this approach can serve as a basis for action on health determinants. It also serves to identify the main lessons to be drawn from the conditions for success of these initiatives so they can then be adapted for the development of chronic disease prevention strategies."--Page 9.
