The by-laws and plans governing the Regional Centre of Halifax are the focus of the analyses. [...] The next portion is the central piece of the project: the analysis of the legislative and policy context of rooming houses in the Halifax Regional Centre. [...] The requirements to renew the license of a rooming house licensed the previous year are slightly less demanding in how the floor plan is not required again as long as the “application states that there has been no change in number, location, size and use of the rooms in such premises since the time of issue of the former license” (p. [...] An option to simplify license renewal is to only require the landlord to resubmit the first two items required in the initial licensing process (name and address of the applicant and the address of the rooming house) with a statement that says no other Rooming Houses in Halifax | 11 Wheeler aspects of the house described in the initial application have changed.
