I also wish to take the opportunity to thank the many individuals involved in the immigration, settlement, licensure and regulatory sectors for their continuing work to provide information and guidance to applicants and to improve the transparency and fairness of the registration process. [...] The OFC also made the decision to not include the risk ratings of individual regulators in our 2021-22 annual report owing to the newness of the scheme and to allow regulators to work with our compliance analysts to address the risks that our office had identified. [...] First, in response to a directive issued by the Minister of Health, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) submitted a set of recommendations to the minister designed to increase the number of IMGs who are licenced and to speed up the registration process. [...] In addition, to enhance the fairness of the matching protocols in Ontario, the ministry directed that both IMGs and domestic medical graduates participate equally in the second round of the matching process, a decision that further contributed to the increased number of IMGs who successfully obtained a match.
