Addresses the question of parental presence at surgical induction and recovery. Parents overwhelmingly want to be present; most teens report wanting their parents to be present or wishing they had been present. Hospital practices vary considerably, a result and a reflection of differing views not only of that the evidence indicates about the effectiveness of parental presence but of what evidence or what kind of evidence is relevant.
