[...] The primary objective of the research was to gain a better understanding of the needs of trans people (including transgender, transsexual, genderqueer, intersex, and otherwise gender non-conforming) in order to enhance capacity among AIDS service organizations (ASOs) to serve them. [...] Some challenges identified by ASOs in providing services to trans people included a need for more information, education and resources around trans issues generally and trans sexual health issues specifically; negative attitudes towards trans people on the part of some of their other clients; the diversity within and between the trans communities; and funding.
