Ramraj, welcomed the participants, acknowledging and respecting “the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Esquimalt) Peoples on whose territory the university stands, and the Lək ̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.” Pre-conference Graduate Student Forum Professor Ramraj introduced the moderator of the graduate student forum, who took over and introduced. [...] He also thanked colleagues from the University of Alberta and Okanagan College, and the Canadian Defence and Security Network, and Phil Calvert, CAPI Senior Research Fellow and former Ambassador to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. [...] She was pleased to introduce the panellists and then provided the session format, which included the contextual remarks, the self-introduction and their work by panellists, and a series of questions concerning the situation of human security today.
