- Benefits of the Program 2
- The Savings by Design program offers many benefits to organizations designing an energy-efficient building. 2
- These benefits include 2
- Lowering operating costs for the organization 2
- Reducing energy consumption thus limiting the organizations negative impact on climate change and environmental deterioration 2
- Reducing greenhouse gas GHG emissions 2
- Meeting performance targets of capital funding programs like those through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation CMHC and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities FCM 2
- Improving the comfort of building residents with energy-efficient technology and design elements 2
- There is no cost to participate in the program. 2
- Eligibility a shelter a transitional or supportive housing provider 2
- Additionally 2
- Your project must be located in Ontario. 2
- Your project must be located in an Enbridge Gas service area. See map below. If you are unsure if your area is serviced by Enbridge contact Alexander Colvin to determine if you are eligible. 2
- Your project must be in the early planning stage before design drawings have begun. 2
- Your project must create at least six units. There is no maximum number of units but the incentive maximum is 120000. 2
- To receive financial incentives per unit your project must achieve 20 or higher than the Ontario Building Code OBC energy efficiency standard. 2
- HST will not be added to financial incentive payments. 2
