We are specifically supportive of NRCan supplying funding to support the advanced Generation-4 SMRs being developed in New Brunswick, which brings additional benefits of SMR to Canada and the rest of the world. [...] The potential economic benefits to Canada for Stream Two in New Brunswick was assessed at the University of Moncton with preliminary impacts of: ● 537,000 person-years of direct/indirect employment ● a GDP increase (Direct/Indirect) of $59 Billion, and ● revenue to the Federal government of >$5.2 Billion The Atlantica Centre for Energy has been involved with local stakeholders since the SMR Roadma. [...] finalize Canada’s Action Plan for SMR The plan respects and builds on the development, demonstration, and respective roles and responsibilities of deployment in Canada and globally with essential enabling partners and sets out subnational partners.
