Applications are evaluated on the basis of the quality of the artist’s work, the potential to expand aes- thetic inquiry, and its relationship to the foundation’s priority to provide support to visual artists who are under-recognized by the field. [...] Santo Foundation Individual Artist Awards The Santo Foundation was established in 2009 to recognize and as- sist the careers of individual artists and to champion the value of the visual artist in our world. [...] The works completed during the program will serve, through the creativity of the selected artists, to deepen the understanding and appreciation of Shenandoah National Park. [...] Its mission is to work with internationaliza- tion in various ways with the aim of increasing and developing contacts between Swedish artists and international institutions, fellow artists, the general public and the markets with the aim of contributing to artistic development and improved working and income opportunities. [...] Artists-in-Residence are invited to utilize the resources of the Museum’s campus including The Studio, the extensive collections and archives of the Museum, and the Rakow Research Library.
