SB hold its first ever “virtual” meeting in a record-setting 9 clearly shared consensus that the Ocean Decade is a great hours! As the new SB Chair, I declared the opening of ISB- opportunity for PICES scientists and possible partners to 2020 with a welcome speech to the members and guests do science and contribute to society by disseminating and acknowledgment of their dedication and willingness. [...] The 3-day affair draft Implementation Plan for the decade, which describes was led by Steven Bograd and Sukyung Kang who are the the governance structure of UNDOS and the levels of Co-Chairs of the FUTURE SSC. [...] The importance of the “social construct” of PICES in encouraging deep scientific collaboration was one of the very strong messages that emerged from the survey done in preparation for the 25th anniversary of PICES in 2016, and there are many eloquent comments on this in the PICES anniversary video. [...] The IPHC Far Eastern Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences Secretariat would also like to personally thank Robin for his efforts, interest and dedication to help strengthen the working relationship between PICES and the IPHC as contemplated in Robin and I both had a long journey in PICES and as employees the recently signed MoU between the two organizations and in DFO and NMFS, respectively.
