Such a scenario of shifting to the primary society, is considered a positive outcome of liberalization and conducive to the implementation of the co-operative integration as we shall see in the analysis section, because it opened new possibilities for the members of primary societies to operate differently, in a more self-reliant way. [...] Although, the difference is not very large, it gives an indication that the older the head of the household becomes, the higher the likelihood of becoming a member of a co-operative society compared to youth. [...] According to key informants, the use of SACCOS depended on the availability of the service and the extent to which the mobilization process was conducted. [...] There is more influence of SACCOS members in the formulation of by- laws in the double societies and on the other hand, there is more influence of AMCO leaders in the single members. [...] The society is bordered with Materuni village in the north, Shimbwe in the west, Mbokoni in the east, and in the south it is bordered with Kishimundu and partly by Kyaseni and MwaseniKaskazini (north) iii.
