2010 - State of Local Economic Development (LED) in the Philippines

In the State of the Nation address (SONA), the President said, "The basic task of the MTPDP for the period 2004-2010 is to fight poverty and build prosperity for the greatest number of the Filipino people. [...] The implementation of the BMBE among LGUs is further strengthened by the issuance of the DILG MC 2008-151 issued on October 6, 2008 encouraging the LGUs to support the formation of BMBEs through the provision of incentives and benefits to generate much needed employment and alleviate poverty.
