[...] f 3 Study of Water Impacts of Hydrogen Development in Alberta 2.0 Anticipated Hydrogen Water Demands in Alberta This section documents the research completed to determine the water use intensity of various hydrogen production methods, identify projects within Alberta expected to deploy these technologies, and estimate the water use associated with hydrogen development throughout the province. [...] Total water use refers to the volume of water which is used in the entire hydrogen production process, including internal recycling of water and water which is used and returned to the river basin from which it was diverted.
