Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Report-December 2021

8 Dec 2021

A Phase II ESA was recommended to investigate the presence/absence of soil and/or groundwater contamination in the vicinity of the former AST at the Site. [...] In the absence of detectable TOV/TCV readings, and in the absence of visible staining, representative worst-case soil samples for laboratory analysis of PHCs and BTEX were selected from the top of the water table in each borehole, denoted by a change in soil colour to grey. [...] Sand packs were placed in the annular space within the boreholes around the well screens from the bottom of the wells to approximately 0.3 m above the well screens. [...] Page 5 6 CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS Based on the results of the investigation, the following conclusions are presented: ➢ The submitted soil samples met the applicable MECP Table 2 SCS for the contaminants of concern; ➢ Monitoring well MW20-9 was monitored on number occasions and was found to have limited groundwater and could not be sampled; ➢ The monitoring well at the Site should be maintain. [...] In cases where results for both F4 and F4G are reported, the greater of the two results must be used in any application of the CWS PHC guidelines and the gravimetric heavy hydrocarbons cannot be added to the C6 to C50 hydrocarbons.
