[...] COP15 and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework In December, MAC had the privilege of participating in the 15th meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) as a member of the Canadian delegation. [...] In addition, 2022 marked the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the first EEM requirements in the Pulp and Paper Effluent Regulations in 1992, and the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the MMER in 2002. [...] In the wake of this tragedy, the Global Tailings Review was launched in the spring of 2019 by the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), the United Nations Environment Programme, and the Principles for Responsible Investment.
