Figure 1 above illustrates that while the current system of child welfare care may benefit only that child who goes through the care system with little positive impact on the parents and/or the community, the JtoZ model empowers the family within which the chil. [...] Conclusion After elaborating the history of the child welfare system in Canada, highlighting its evolution and origins in the residential school system, the literature review presented the drivers (pre- eminently neglect and abuse) of the child welfare system associated with apprehension of children from their homes, and away from their parents and community. [...] In the first stage of the SROI analysis, all the relevant stakeholders for the JtoZ interventions were identified through the support of the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. [...] These investments that were in the form of equipment and facilities, and time invested and contributed by staff and volunteers in the implementation of the interventions were computed financially to understand the actual amount of money invested in the interventions. [...] The ToC identifies the issues to be addressed, the gaps or void identified in the literature that the intervention intends to fill, ways of providing support to address gaps, and the impact that is expected from the implementation.
