It is enshrined in both international and domestic law, including in: the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms; the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights; the United Nations Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief; and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Ind. [...] Religious intolerance can materialize in many ways, from microaggressions, to lack of accommodation and acceptance of religious practices, to vandalism of religious buildings, hate speech, and physical violence.
