The CPDS brings together around thirty professors, students and students around issues related to the analysis of policies and the governance of contemporary democratic societies. From new forms of citizen participation and political representation to issues of legitimacy and transparency in the governance processes of institutions, through the rescheduling of politics at local or transnational levels, the CPDS is interested in the major transformations of contemporary democracies in a perspective inspired by comparative political sociology. In a context of questioning some of the foundations of democracy in several societies, the work of the CPDS is more relevant than ever.
