Founded on an understanding of the social determinants of health and well-being across the life course, such a system is geared to promoting the highest level of health possible, even in the presence of a limiting neurological condition — improving the “circumstances in which the individual lives”. Placing the system design in the context of future catalysts and drivers is used to help identify the policy implications and strategic ideas that can positively affect the development of an inter-sectoral and integrated system for persons with neurological conditions — that [...] A well-integrated system has the potential to be efficient, effective and of high quality, spanning the full continuum of the challenges and experience of daily living – whether that be in a school, a workplace, or the broader community. [...] Part of the challenge is the de-stigmatization of these neurological conditions, the development of a broader base of understanding of their frequency and normalcy in the population, and the recognition that a medical response is a necessary one but not a sufficient one. [...] Regardless of the approach used, the critical determinant is the size of the personal budget or size of the credit – that is – are the available funds sufficient to need?
