Bylaw No. 7200 The Traffic Bylaw

(1) Subject to Subsections 10(2), 10(3) and 10(4), the operator of a vehicle shall not stop, or park the vehicle on any street other than parallel with the curb, and with the right hand wheels of the vehicle within 300mm of the edge of the curb and face the vehicle in the direction of the going traffic. [...] (4) Upon one-way streets, the operator of a vehicle may park with the left side of the vehicle towards the curb on the left-hand side of the street providing the left-hand wheels of the vehicle are within 300mm of the edge of the curb. [...] (1) Where a vehicle is weighed using a portable weigh scale approved by the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, the peace officer or person appointed by the minister shall immediately advise the person in charge of the vehicle that in lieu of having the weight determined using the portable weigh scale, the person in charge of the vehicle has the right to immediately take the vehicle to the ne. [...] (2) Where the person in charge of the vehicle decides to have the vehicle weighed at the nearest weigh scales, a peace officer or a person appointed by the minister has the power to take any steps that they consider considers necessary to ensure that no alteration in the weight of the vehicle or the distribution of the weight of the load occurs during transit to the weigh scales. [...] Vicarious Liability 59.1 Notwithstanding any other provision of the Bylaw, the owner of any vehicle shall be liable for a violation of any provision of this Bylaw, as well as the person who committed the offence, unless the owner proves to the satisfaction of the judge or justice of the peace trying the case that, at the time of the offence, the vehicle was not being operated and had not been park.
